Description

The American Fyre Designs Contempo LP Select is a chat-height gas fire table with a built-in drawer for the propane tank. It measures 52" W x 36" D x 18½" H and carries a 24" stainless steel linear burner rated at 60,000 BTU, in propane. This listing is the White Aspen finish, handcrafted in the USA.

It lights with a push-button spark igniter and a manual flame-sensing control valve. The igniter runs on one AA battery, so you don't need an outdoor outlet, and the knob sets the flame height. A drawer in the base holds a horizontal 20 lb DOT or 11 lb low-profile steel cylinder (not included). A standard vertical 20 lb cylinder must not be used. It is built for propane only and cannot be converted to natural gas.

Plan these before you order: the propane cylinder, which is not included, and 3 feet of open space on every side with 6 feet clear above. See more American Fyre Designs fire features.

Photos may show this model in a different finish or fuel configuration. Your order is built in White Aspen, and each piece is handcrafted, so color and texture vary slightly.

  • Propane drawer: the tank sits in a drawer in the base, out of sight.

Installation planning

  • Outdoor use only. Keep at least 3 ft from any construction on each side and 6 ft from anything overhead. Over time, soot can collect on a ceiling above the unit.
  • Set it on a hard, level surface. AFD permits a combustible surface under the unit, but keep it out of traffic areas and away from combustibles.
  • Use only a cylinder with an overfilling prevention device and vapor withdrawal, and never store a spare cylinder under or near the unit.
  • Have it installed by an NFI-certified or other qualified installer, service agency or gas supplier, following local codes, and have it inspected at least once a year.
  • Plan for two or more people. Some components are heavy and have sharp edges, so wear gloves.
  • Don't run it in heavy rain or high wind. AFD warns that wind can push flame onto the finish and crack or discolor it. Never burn wood or other solid fuel, and never leave it burning unattended.
  • Care: wipe up spills right away, use coasters, clean with mild soap and water, and apply a masonry sealer once a year. Concrete develops a patina outdoors; AFD does not treat spotting or hairline cracks as defects. Keep it covered when cool and not in use.

Warranty

AFD limited warranty: 3 years on the GFRC fire table and burner; 1 year on electrical components, valves, accessories and controls (batteries, wind guards and screens excluded). It covers the original purchaser, single-family residential use in the US or Canada, with proof of purchase and installation by a qualified professional. A separate warranty applies to commercial or multi-user settings. Labor is not covered. Damage from high wind, from burning wood or any fuel other than natural gas or propane, and normal outdoor rust, corrosion or discoloration are excluded. Full terms are on page 60 of the manual, and you can register the product at rhpeterson.com.
