Description

The Bull Contemporary Refrigerator (model 11520, sold by Bull as the Select Contemporary) is a 20-inch, 4.5 cu. ft. compact refrigerator with a stainless steel door for an outdoor kitchen. Bull lists it as the replacement for its earlier 4.5 cu. ft. refrigerator, model 11001.

It installs built in, recessed into an island opening, or stands on its own. The flush-back design saves depth, the door reverses for a left or right swing, and a can dispenser on the door holds seven 12 oz. cans. A dial inside sets the temperature from OFF to 6, and it defrosts itself.

Plan before ordering: it needs a grounded outlet (Bull recommends a dedicated circuit) and runs in ambient temperatures from 50 to 109.4 degrees F, out of direct sun and moist areas, with the front vent kept clear. A stainless finishing frame is available from Bull. See all Bull outdoor kitchen products, such as the Bull 18-inch dual-mount sink (12515).

Installation planning

  • Opening: 20-3/4" W x 33-1/4" H x 21-1/4" D for a built-in install; Bull's spec sheet shows the opening in its installation view.
  • Airflow: keep the front of the unit completely unobstructed and its vents uncovered. Do not install it behind a cabinet door or block its base. The leveling legs leave a gap underneath for air; never run it without them.
  • Location: ambient temperatures from 50 to 109.4 degrees F, out of direct sunlight and moist areas, and away from ovens, grills, radiators and other heat sources.
  • Electrical: plug into a grounded outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch or pull chain; a dedicated circuit is recommended. Do not remove the grounding prong, and never use an adapter or extension cord. Grounding must follow local codes, or NFPA 70 / Canadian Electrical Code Part 1 where there are none.
  • First start: stand it upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in, wipe the inside with lukewarm water, set the dial to 6, then adjust after 24 to 48 hours. After unplugging or a power loss, wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting.
  • Door reversal: unplug it and lay it on its back, move the top hinge bracket (2 screws) and bottom bracket (3 screws) and the leveling feet to the other side, then stand it upright and wait one hour before plugging it back in.
  • Leveling: turn a front leg clockwise to lower that corner and counterclockwise to raise it; a level unit runs quieter and the door closes properly.

Care: Unplug before cleaning. Clean the inside with about 2 tablespoons of baking soda per gallon of warm water, the shelves with a mild detergent and the outside with warm water and mild detergent or a stainless steel cleaner; never steel wool, wire brushes, solvents or abrasives. Let hot food cool before storing it and do not line the shelves with foil or paper. Away less than three weeks, leave it running; for longer, empty, unplug and clean it, and prop the door slightly open to prevent odor and mold. Move it upright, with the door taped shut.

Warranty

Bull's warranty policy (v2026.10.29) and the refrigerator manual cover parts for refrigerators for 1 year from the date of purchase, against defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage is for the consumer who originally bought the product, at the original site of delivery or installation, for residential use; it does not transfer to a later owner and does not cover rental, commercial or other non-residential use. Bull replaces the defective part or product free of charge at its discretion, but does not pay shipping on replacement parts or any labor. Damage from transport, storage, improper installation or use, failure to follow the instructions or perform maintenance, modifications, normal wear (including rust, corrosion, oxidation or discoloration) and outside causes is not covered.

Register the refrigerator online or with the mail-in card in the box, and keep your receipt. Contact Bull customer service at bullbbq.com/support or (800) 521-2855 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Eastern).
