Description
The Blaze BLZ-PROWG-44 is a heavy-duty 304 stainless steel wind guard for the Blaze Professional LUX 4-burner built-in gas grill, the Professional LUX 44-inch grill (BLZ-4PRO). Blaze lists it as the "4 Burner Professional Grill Wind Guard."
The guard measures 48" W x 12" D x 20-1/2" H. It mounts within the grill's existing island cut-out, or inside a Blaze insulated jacket when the grill is set in a combustible island, and shields the grill from winds up to 25 MPH. Blaze's Professional grill manual warns that wind blowing into or across the rear hood gap can cause poor performance and can keep exhaust from escaping, so a guard matters most on coastal sites, mountaintops, rooftops and balconies.
Plan before you order: the grill and the insulated jacket are sold separately, and the guard does not change the grill's own clearances. For the 34-inch 3-burner Professional LUX grill, choose the BLZ-PROWG-34; Premium LTE and Traditional grills use the 19-inch-tall BLZ-WG series, such as the BLZ-WG-40 for 40-inch 5-burner grills.

Installation planning
- The guard mounts within the grill's existing island cut-out, or inside the Blaze insulated jacket when the island is built of combustible material (Blaze requires the jacket in that case).
- For reference, the Professional LUX 44-inch grill (BLZ-4PRO) cut-out is 42-1/2" W x 23-5/8" D x 10-1/2" H. Measure your finished opening and tell us before you order if your island differs.
- Blaze's Professional grill manual: never use the grill in windy conditions; if it sits in a consistently windy area (oceanfront, mountaintop and similar), a wind break is required, and a wind block behind the grill may be necessary. Take wind exposure into account when you choose the location.
- The guard does not change the grill's clearances. Keep at least 18" from combustible material at the sides and back, 5" behind the grill for the lid and 6 feet to overhead construction, vent the island as the manual shows, and have a qualified installer make the gas connection.
Warranty
Blaze backs its wind guards with a lifetime warranty. Blaze's grill warranty terms cover the original owner at the original site of delivery, require registration within 30 days of purchase, and exclude discoloration and surface rust (unless there is structural rust-through), labor, shipping and commercial use. Register at Blaze product registration. Ask us and we will send the current Blaze warranty document before you order.
