Description
The Blaze BLZ-WG-40 is a heavy-duty 304 stainless steel wind guard for Blaze 40-inch 5-burner built-in gas grills. Blaze lists it for its 40-inch 5-burner Traditional and LTE built-in gas grills, such as the Premium LTE+ 40-inch grill (BLZ-5LTE3) and the Premium LTE 40-inch grill (BLZ-5LTE2). For an LTE PRO or Professional LUX grill, ask us to confirm the right guard before you order.
The guard measures 43-11/16" W x 12" D x 19" H. It mounts within the grill's existing island cut-out, or inside a Blaze insulated jacket when the grill is set in a combustible island, and shields the grill from winds up to 25 MPH. Blocking the wind helps keep the burners lit and lets you cook on lower settings, which matters most on coastal sites, rooftops and balconies.
Plan before you order: the grill and the insulated jacket are sold separately. Blaze's grill manuals say a wind break is required in a consistently windy location (oceanfront or mountaintop, for example), and the guard does not change the grill's own clearances. Blaze makes a matching guard for each grill width: the BLZ-WG-25 for 25-inch 3-burner grills, the BLZ-WG-32 for 32-inch 4-burner grills, and the BLZ-PROWG-34 and BLZ-PROWG-44 for Professional LUX grills.

Features
- Shields winds up to 25 MPH: keeps burners lit and heat steady on exposed patios, so you are not cranking the grill to high to make up for lost heat.
- Heavy-duty 304 stainless steel: the material Blaze specifies for the guard, suited to the coastal and balcony sites it is designed for.
- Mounts in the existing cut-out or insulated jacket: works with a standard non-combustible island opening or with a combustible-island install that uses a Blaze insulated jacket.
- Sized for the 40-inch 5-burner grill: 43-11/16" W x 12" D x 19" H, listed by Blaze for the 5 Burner Traditional/LTE grill.
- Lifetime warranty: Blaze backs the wind guard with a lifetime warranty.

Installation planning
- The guard mounts within the grill's existing island cut-out, or inside the Blaze insulated jacket when the island is built of combustible material (Blaze requires the jacket in that case).
- For reference, the Premium LTE+ / LTE 40-inch grill cut-out is 38-3/8" W x 21-1/4" D x 8-1/2" H (grill manual). Measure your finished opening and tell us before you order if your island differs.
- Blaze's grill manuals: if the grill is in a consistently windy area (oceanfront, mountaintop and similar), a wind break is required, and a wind block behind the appliance may be necessary.
- The guard does not change the grill's clearances. Keep the clearances to combustible construction, the overhead rules and the island venting in your grill's manual; a licensed gas professional should make the gas connection.
Warranty
Blaze backs its wind guards with a lifetime warranty. Blaze's grill warranty terms cover original owners at the original site of delivery, require registration within 30 days of purchase and the sales invoice, and exclude discoloration and surface rust (unless there is rust-through or loss of structural integrity), labor, shipping and restaurant use. Register at Blaze product registration. Ask us and we will send the current Blaze warranty document before you order.
