Collection: Bromic Heating

Bromic Heating makes radiant patio heaters for homes, restaurants and hotels. The range runs from slim electric heaters that recess into a ceiling to fixed gas heaters and freestanding models that need no installation in the structure, plus the Affinity controls that run them from a phone.

Choosing a Bromic heater

  • Gas or electric: start with what you have. Fixed gas heaters need a gas line and a small 110V supply for their controls. Electric heaters are hard-wired by a licensed electrician, on 208V or 240V, and some Tungsten models on 277V.
  • How visible it should be: the Platinum Electric is about 2 in. thick and gives off very little light, so it suits design-led spaces and flush ceilings. The Tungsten lines have a honeycomb mesh face, and the Eclipse adds a ring of LED light.
  • Ceiling height: most fixed heaters need at least 96 in. from the floor. Bromic mounting poles and suspension tubes bring the heater down from a high ceiling.
  • Coast: Platinum Electric Marine uses 316 stainless steel for salt air. It is for land and coastal sites, not for installing on boats.

Controlling your heaters

The simplest option is a manual wall switch. Affinity On/Off controllers add app control, schedules and zones, and work with gas or electric heaters. Affinity Dimmer controllers adjust electric heat in 1% steps, and Affinity Eclipse controllers adjust heat and light together on Eclipse pendants.

Bromic heater questions

Can Bromic gas heaters be used indoors?

No. Bromic's gas heaters are for outdoor, above-ground use with natural ventilation, and enclosures must meet the opening rules in the manual.

Can Bromic heaters go on a boat?

Bromic's manuals say the gas heaters and the marine-grade recess kits are not for boats. The Platinum Electric Marine manual limits it to land and coastal installations.

Do I need the heat deflector on a gas heater?

It is optional. It cuts the clearance needed above a Platinum or Tungsten gas heater from 3 ft to 14 in., which helps under low ceilings.

Do I need a licensed installer?

Yes for fixed heaters. Gas heaters must be installed by authorized persons, and electric heaters must be hard-wired by a licensed person.
