Description
The Blaze BLZ-KMDO-CBDRP is Blaze's Easy Light Indirect Cooking System with Moisture Enhancing Pan, a two-part charcoal accessory for the Blaze 20-inch Kamado grill (BLZ-20-KAMADO). It pairs a stainless steel charcoal basket with a separate stainless steel drip pan, both made from heavy-duty 304-grade stainless steel.
The basket sections the charcoal off to one side of the kamado so you can cook with indirect heat. Its lower chamber doubles as a chimney starter, so it works with charcoal starters and other ignition methods. Blaze says that when the basket is paired with the Blaze Kamado Rotisserie Kit (BLZ-KMDO-2-ROTIS) it provides infrared heat for the spit. The rotisserie kit is not included.
The drip pan catches drippings for pan gravies and bastes. When smoking, fill it with water or another cooking liquid and it works as a moisture pan. Blaze says the pan works with or without the basket. Blaze covers the system with a 1-year warranty. Installation planning
- Blaze does not publish separate use or care instructions for this system. Its kamado use and care guide describes indirect cooking as the usual method for roasting, barbecuing and smoking, and uses the middle rack to hold a drip pan.
- Every part of a lit kamado gets hot: wear heat-resistant gloves when placing or removing the basket or pan, and let them cool fully before cleaning.
- The kamado guide warns that high temperatures, humidity, chemicals and salt can affect stainless steel parts.
Warranty
Blaze covers this system for 1 year against manufacturing defects and workmanship. Coverage extends to the original purchaser for ordinary single-family home use. Register your Blaze products with Blaze after delivery.
