A Blaze insulated jacket lines the island opening so a Blaze grill, griddle, burner or pizza oven can be built into a combustible enclosure, such as a wood-framed island. Blaze requires one whenever the island is not non-combustible. Each jacket fits one product family, so match it to your exact model.

When a Blaze insulated jacket is required

The Blaze installation manuals say the grill must go into a non-combustible enclosure or be installed with a Blaze insulated jacket. If your island frame is wood or any other combustible material, the jacket is mandatory. The jacket does not change the clearances the manual sets above, behind or beside the appliance.

Blaze does not name a jacket for the BCM 32 (BLZ-4BCM), so ask us before ordering.

Cut the island for the jacket, not the grill

The jacket is larger than the grill, so the island opening must be framed to the jacket's cutout. For example, the LTE PRO 32-inch grill needs a 30-3/4" W cutout on its own but 33-3/8" W x 21-1/4" D x 10" H with the BLZ-4-IJ2. Blaze notes that a 1/4" to 1/2" gap below the jacket is possible. Blaze insulated jacket FAQ

Do I need an insulated jacket for my Blaze grill?

Only if the island is built from combustible materials such as a wood frame. In a fully non-combustible island, the Blaze manuals do not require one. Check local codes as well.

Can I use one jacket for different Blaze grills?

No. Blaze makes each jacket for one product family and size. The LTE PRO 32-inch, for example, takes the BLZ-4-IJ2, not the BLZ-4-IJ used by 32-inch Premium LTE grills.

Does the jacket change the island cutout?

Yes. Frame the opening to the jacket's cutout, which is wider than the grill's own cutout. Ask us for the confirmed jacket cutout before you build.

Is the grill included with the jacket?

No. The jacket is sold on its own and the grill or component is sold separately.
