Description

The Broilmaster G-Series Elite Edition 34 (BSG343N) is a 34-inch built-in gas grill head in 304 stainless steel. Three cast stainless steel bow tie burners deliver 18,000 BTU each (54,000 BTU across the main burners), and an 11,000 BTU rear infrared burner is built in for rotisserie roasting with the optional spit kit. Total cooking area is 806 sq. in. including the warming rack. Interior work lights, blue LED control panel lights, a Retract-A-Rack warming rack and multi-level cooking grids are standard.

Three 5/16" stainless steel cooking grids set at two heights, three stainless flare control vaporizers and two removable heat zone dividers let you run each burner zone at its own temperature. A push-and-turn Flame Thrower ignition lights each burner with no battery. This model ships set up for natural gas, with a propane conversion kit packed in the box for a qualified installer to fit.

Plan ahead: the head drops into a 31-1/2" W x 21" D x 11-3/4" H cut-out in an island built of non-combustible materials, and it cannot sit under overhead combustible construction. The lights run from a transformer that plugs into a GFCI-protected outlet in the island. Broilmaster also offers this head freestanding on the 34" stainless steel cart (BSACT34), and the same G-Series head comes in 26-inch (BSG262N) and 42-inch (BSG424N) sizes.

Installation planning

  • Cut-out: 31-1/2" W x 21" D x 11-3/4" H. With the optional insulated sleeve (BSASL34), frame the opening to 33-3/4" W x 22-3/4" D x 12-3/4" H; the sleeve has a 4" square opening at the rear or bottom for the gas and electrical connections.
  • Install it only in an enclosure made of non-combustible materials (for example brick or cement board), never in a combustible island and never under overhead combustible construction. Allow at least 5" behind the hood so it opens fully. Keep the clearances to combustible construction printed on the rating plate and in the manual.
  • Never place the light transformer or a gas hose between the grill and the sleeve. Mount the transformer to the island back wall and plug it into a GFCI-protected, grounded three-prong outlet; any extension cord must be outdoor rated, three-prong and marked W-A. The rotisserie motor needs a 110V supply.
  • Natural gas: install an accessible shut-off valve outdoors; Broilmaster recommends a stainless steel flex line for built-in grills. Disconnect the grill during any gas-line pressure test above 1/2 psi. Massachusetts requires a licensed plumber or gas fitter and a T-handle gas valve on permanent installations.
  • Propane: a qualified installer fits the conversion kit. Use one 20 lb tank with an overfill prevention device at 11" water column. With a tank in the island, add vent registers of at least 10 sq. in. each, two per side, one high and one low, with the bottom of each vent at least 2-1/4" above the ground (vent register kit BRB-1, two per kit). Never fill a tank beyond 80%, never store a spare tank within 10 ft, and keep flammable liquids at least 25 ft away.
  • Leak-test every connection with soapy water before first use, at the start of each season and each time the tank is changed. Never use a flame.
  • Outdoor use only, and never on a balcony, deck or patio above the ground floor.
  • To light: push the knob in, turn it slowly counterclockwise until gas flows, hold 2 to 3 seconds, then finish the quarter turn so the igniter lights the burner; if it does not light, return the knob, wait and start again. Preheat with all main burners on HIGH and the hood closed for 10 to 15 minutes, then turn off the burners you do not need.

Care: Before each use, check and clean the grease tray and the inside of the lid. Wash the grids and vaporizers in warm, mildly soapy water. Clean the whole interior at least every 6 months, and inspect and clean the burner venturi tubes at least twice a year (summer and fall) and whenever spiders are active or the grill has sat unused. Wipe the stainless steel after each use; do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool, and polish with the grain. Replacement interior bulbs are 12V halogen, 10W maximum, T3 with a G4 bi-pin base.

Warranty

Broilmaster limited warranty for G-Series grills: limited lifetime against rust-through on the stainless steel grill housing, the stainless steel cooking grids, and select stainless components (carts, cast stainless bow tie burners, drip pans, side burners and the warming rack) and stainless built-in components (sleeves, access doors and drawers, and vent register kits); limited 5 years against rust-through on stainless V-grates, flame tamers and heat zone partitions and on infrared burners, including the rear rotisserie burner; limited 1 year on valves, knobs, ignitors, labels, hoses, fittings and other parts, including stainless parts not listed above. The lifetime coverage is a one-time replacement of the covered component.

The warranty covers the original purchaser only and does not transfer. The grill must be installed by a qualified technician and operated and maintained as the manual describes; keep your proof of purchase and give ready access for service. It does not cover misuse, improper installation or storage, lack of maintenance, wind-related damage (such as melted knobs or ignitor wires and control panel discoloration), damage from flare-ups or blocked openings, unauthorized service, removal and reinstallation, service calls, labor, travel, diagnostic or freight costs. To make a claim, contact your installing dealer with the model and serial number, the gas type and your proof of purchase; shipping is not covered. Full terms are in the owner's manual.
