Description
The Primo Round Ceramic Top (PG0177902R) is a factory replacement for the upper ceramic shell, the dome, of the Primo Round charcoal kamado grill. Primo lists it in its 2026 parts list as "Ceramic top assembly-repair, Round". The top vent with its daisy wheel and the dome thermometer (parts named in Primo's Quick Start Guide) sit on the dome. If your dome has a ceramic defect, start with your dealer first: Primo gives a limited lifetime warranty on the grill's ceramic parts (see Warranty below).
It fits the Primo Round PGCRH and the Round in the All-In-One Round PGCRC. Primo's Round spec sheet shows a lid height of 11 in. and a width of 21.5 in. at the lid, with the grill 29.75 in. tall when closed. It does not fit the oval grills. Plan ahead: Primo does not publish a parts list for this replacement, so ask us whether the band, hinge, top vent, thermometer or gasket come fitted before you order. The complete Round grill weighs 200 lb (Primo Round spec sheet); Primo does not publish the weight of the top alone.

Installation planning
- Confirm the model first: this dome is for the Primo Round only. Primo's warranty does not cover unauthorized parts, so match the part to your grill before ordering.
- Warranty route: if the original dome has a ceramic defect, contact your dealer with the model number, serial number and proof of purchase before buying a replacement; Primo replaces defective parts with equivalent parts, the purchaser pays shipping, and the old part must be disposed of once the replacement arrives.
- Handling: Primo does not publish dome-swap instructions for the Round, so ask us or your dealer how to remove and refit the dome, band and hinge before you start, and have a second adult help.
- After reassembly: Primo's warranty asks owners to check and tighten the band bolts several times a season and after each high-heat cook.
- Top vent use (Primo Quick Start Guide): open the top vent fully by sliding the top disk all the way to the right; when you are about 25 °F from your target, close it to one-third open, and use the daisy wheel for low-and-slow cooks.
- Placement: Primo's Round spec sheet asks for 10 in. of space behind the grill so the lid can open fully, and at least 2 in. around the outside of the grill.
- Fuel and lighting: use only natural lump charcoal and keep the dome open while it lights. Never use lighter fluid or other combustible liquids; Primo says the ceramic absorbs them.
Care: Clean the cooking grates after each use, keep ash off the cast iron grate, and check and tighten the band bolts several times a season and after high-heat cooks (Primo warranty maintenance).
Warranty
Primo Ceramic Grills gives the original purchaser of the grill a limited lifetime warranty on all ceramic parts, a limited 5-year rust-through warranty on metal parts other than cast iron, a limited 1-year rust-through warranty on cast iron parts and on all other parts and accessories unless stated otherwise, and a limited 30-day warranty on felt gaskets and thermometers. Primo's warranty page does not state a separate term for a ceramic top bought as a replacement part; ask us to confirm the coverage before you order.
Primo's conditions: coverage is for the original purchaser; the product must be installed according to Primo's instructions; keep a bill of sale or payment record. Replacement parts ship at the purchaser's expense. Not covered: damage from use, misuse, improper installation or storage, unauthorized service or parts, lack of maintenance (including not checking and tightening bolts several times a season), removal and reinstallation, service calls, labor, travel, diagnostic and freight charges. Claims go through your dealer with the model number and proof of purchase, or through Primo's online warranty claim form; international claims are not accepted.
