Description
The Primo Cast Iron Firebox Divider for Oval Junior (PG00314) is the Junior size of Primo's heavy cast iron divider. Primo says it "allows you to split the fire box area to create two distinct cooking zones," so you can cook direct and indirect at the same time, and that it conserves natural lump charcoal on smaller cooks. Primo's owner's manual puts it simply: add a firebox divider and cook directly over the heat on one side and smoke on the other, or use it to cook on one small section of the grill.
It is made for the Primo Oval Junior 200 PGCJRH grill head and the All-In-One Oval Junior 200 PGCJRC. The Oval Junior 200 has a 13-1/2 x 18-1/2 in. cooking grid with 210 sq. in. of main cooking area (360 sq. in. with the optional rack system), per Primo's Junior spec sheet. Other sizes use their own dividers: Oval XL PG00334, Oval Large PG00344 and Oval XXL PG00371. Primo does not list a divider for the Round. Plan ahead: Primo warns the divider may not be compatible with certain pre-2015 charcoal grates and asks you to contact it before purchasing if you are unsure, so tell us your grill's age or serial number before you order. Primo does not publish the divider's dimensions or weight.

Installation planning
- Fit: this divider is for the Oval Junior 200. Primo warns it may not fit certain pre-2015 charcoal grates; contact us with your grill's age before ordering. Primo's warranty does not cover unauthorized parts.
- Placement: Primo's owner's manual has you set the bottom grate at the mid-base of the fire box with the divider slots facing upward; those slots secure the Oval firebox divider. Primo publishes no separate installation sheet for the divider.
- Two-zone fire: Primo's Quick Start Guide calls for half a fire box of charcoal for two-zone cooking and a full fire box for smoking and searing temperatures.
- Lighting: use only natural lump charcoal, lit with a fire starter cube or two, a chimney starter or an electric starter with the dome open; wait 5-10 minutes for embers. Never use lighter fluid; Primo says it is absorbed by the ceramics and gives food a fuel taste.
- Grill placement: Primo's Junior spec sheet asks for 10 in. of clearance behind the grill so it opens properly and at least 2 in. around the outside of the grill.
Care: Primo's warranty maintenance asks owners to clean ash from cast iron grates and to clean cast iron cooking surfaces after each use; lack of maintenance is not covered.
Warranty
Primo Ceramic Grills gives the original purchaser a limited 1-year warranty against rust-through on all cast iron parts, alongside its limited lifetime warranty on ceramic parts, limited 5-year rust-through warranty on metal parts other than cast iron, limited 1-year rust-through warranty on all other parts and accessories (unless specified) and limited 30-day warranty on felt gaskets and thermometers. Rust, fading, surface blemishes and oxidation are not covered unless they cause the part to fail.
Primo's conditions: coverage is for the original purchaser; keep a bill of sale or payment record; the product must be installed according to Primo's instructions. Replacement parts ship at the purchaser's expense, and the existing part must be disposed of once the replacement arrives. Not covered: damage from use, misuse, improper installation or storage; unauthorized service or parts; lack of maintenance (including not removing ash from cast iron grates and not cleaning cast iron cooking surfaces after each use); removal and reinstallation, service calls, labor, travel, diagnostic and freight charges. Claims go through your dealer with the model number, serial number and proof of purchase, or through Primo's online warranty claim form; international claims are not accepted.
