Description
The Primo Cradle for the Round kamado (PG0177308) is the sturdy metal rolling stand Primo makes for its Round charcoal grill, the traditional round-shaped Primo (older Primo documents call it the Kamado). It holds the grill head off the ground on four casters, and the two locking casters at the front keep the grill in place while you cook. Primo lists it for the Round Charcoal grill only.
Primo includes a cradle stand in the Primo All-In-One Round PGCRC; this is the Round cradle sold on its own, for the head-only Primo Round PGCRH (200 lb, 280 sq. in. on an 18-1/2 in. round grid). Two notched frames slot together into an X, joined by a cross-member bar, and the grill sits in the top of the X. For an oval Primo, the oval cradles come in the All-In-One packages, such as the cradle and side tables for the Oval XL 400 PG0178005. You can also browse our Primo and kamado grills collections.
Plan ahead: the grill head is not included, and Primo's Round instructions call for two adults to build the cradle and two adults on each side to lift the 200 lb grill into it. Primo does not publish the cradle's overall size or weight; ask us for them before you order.

Features
- Made for the Primo Round: Primo's own cradle for its Round charcoal kamado, built to hold the 200 lb head.
- Two locking front casters: lock the grill in place while you cook; the other two casters let it roll when the locks are off.
- X-frame design: two cradle frames slot together, with a notched top bar, and a cross-member bar ties them together for a stable stand.
- Simple hardware: threaded studs with locking washers and nuts join the frames; Primo calls for an adjustable or 11 mm wrench.
- Metal construction: Primo describes the cradle as sturdy metal for durability and mobility.

Installation planning
- Where to build it (Primo Round grill instructions PG1000507): two adults, on a level area with plenty of working room, such as a driveway or parking lot.
- Cradle assembly (PG1000507): set the cradle part with the notched top bar horizontally through the other part, then turn it upright to form an X and line up the holes. Put a threaded stud with a locking washer and nut through the two bottom bars, then through the two top bars, finger-tight only. Line up the cross-member bar with its holes, fit the remaining studs and nuts, then tighten every fastener.
- Casters: keep the locking casters locked, and on the side farthest from the grill, while you line the cradle up with the grill. Once the grill is in its final spot, push down the caster tabs to set the locks; the locking casters go at the front.
- Lifting the grill in (PG1000507): the Round weighs about 200 lb. While one person holds the grill steady, take out the cooking grate, charcoal grate and fire box. Lift with two adults on each side, one hand under the bottom of the grill and the other on the base just below the hinge. Never lift the grill by the hinge. Seat it with the draft door centered and the locking casters in front, pushing down on the grill if needed, then put back the fire box (opening lined up with the draft door), the charcoal grate and the cooking grate.
- Moving: always pull the grill carefully; Primo says never to push it, because it can tip over.
- Placement: Primo's Round spec sheet asks for 10 in. of space behind the grill so the lid can open fully, and at least 2 in. around the outside of the grill.
Care: Primo's warranty asks owners to tighten bolts as part of regular maintenance; check the cradle fasteners from time to time. Weather, moisture, salt, scratches and chemicals can mark metal parts.
Warranty
Primo Ceramic Grills' warranty page does not name its cradles. Its general terms give a limited 1-year rust-through warranty on all cast iron parts and on "all other parts and accessories" unless stated otherwise, alongside the limited lifetime warranty on ceramic parts and the limited 5-year rust-through warranty on metal parts other than cast iron. Ask us to confirm the coverage for this cradle before you order.
Primo's conditions: coverage is for the original purchaser; the product must be installed according to Primo's instructions; keep a bill of sale or payment record. Rust, fading, surface blemishes and oxidation are not covered unless they cause a part to fail. Replacement parts ship at the purchaser's expense. Not covered: damage from use, misuse, improper installation or storage, unauthorized service or parts, lack of maintenance (including not tightening bolts), removal and reinstallation, service calls, labor, travel, diagnostic and freight charges. Claims go through your dealer with the model number and proof of purchase, or through Primo's online warranty claim form; international claims are not accepted. Full terms are on Primo's warranty and parts page.
